基督在十字架上遭遇了仇敵所有的攻擊，祂卻徹底消滅了撒但的作為。祂不朽、得勝的生命，如今藉著聖靈繼續顯明在屬神的人當中。這見證是「極大的奧秘…是指著基督和教會說的」（弗五22）。今日神呼召祂的器皿起來見證，不是藉著教會的活動、恩賜和善工，乃是因著信領基督的十字架之得勝，得以在世上與主有屬天的聯合，戰勝「天空屬靈氣的惡魔」（六12）。主來是叫我們得「更豐盛」生命（約十10），與祂一同贏得這生命的爭戰，直至我們如同新婦妝飾整齊。

這本書沒有爭論靈魂是否三元論，卻從聖經與生命的經歷來說明靈的真實存在與意義。我們對靈與魂的認識混淆，就會造成重生與成聖錯誤了解，阻礙我們靈命長進。靈與魂有區別，我們藉著靈與神有五重的關係。但願我們認識自己的本相，以簡單、謙卑、無己的心跟隨主。成聖的路在於信而順服，依靠神，好叫靈與聖靈聯合。因此，我們必須更新的認識十字架，去抵擋那迷惑、欺騙人的仇敵對靈魂所作假冒的事。這樣，我們為復興的禱告和為靈命進深的努力，就能夠落實。
